Anti-narcotic operatives of the PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (RO-NCR) have arrested two notorious women drug peddlers who were allegedly in possession of Php6.8M worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust sting in Quezon City Wednesday night (November 6, 2019).
Director Joel B Plaza, Regional Director of PDEA RO-NCR identified the arrested suspects as Antonieta Pepito y Cañete, 49 years old, unemployed and a resident of Muntinlupa City and Judith Amansec y Lugay, 48, also unemployed and a resident of Caloocan City.
The two suspects were apprehended by combined operatives of PDEA RO-NCR Quezon City District Office (QCDO), Northern District Office (NDO) and Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) in coordination with PNP QCPD SDEU PS-2 at around 6:45 p.m. in front of a prominent shopping mall at North EDSA, Quezon City after negotiating with a PDEA poseur-agent.
Recovered and seized during the operation were a piece of self-sealing transparent plastic bag containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing more or less 1 kilogram, which has a standard street value of Php6.8M, a unit of an analog-type cellular phone, identification card and the buy-bust money.
Criminal charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of R.A. 9165 were slapped against the two arrested suspects. (Jimmy Carbo/BCuaresma/IAMIGO/CNS)
