Suspect busted in Boracay Island

MANILA, Philippines — Operatives from the Philippine National Police Malay Special Drug Enforcement Team has confirmed the presence of illegal drug selling in local and international tourist magnet Boracay Island following the arrest of a suspect early morning of Monday, 21 October 2019.

The drug enforcement team, which was led by PCapt. Dexter Brigido and drug law enforcement officers from PDEA Aklan provincial office backstopped by IA-III Eugene O. Prieto, conducted the joint buy-bust operation in Brgy. Manoc-Manoc, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

The said drug sting led to the arrest of Kim Cahilo y Casimero and confiscation of suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing around two (2) grams whose street value is yet unknown.

Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Art. II RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspect. (Jimmy Mendoza/BC/IAmigo/CNS)
