Wife of slain vice mayor appeals for help to President Duterte

MANILA, Philippines – The wife of slain Batuan, Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III has on Friday, 18 October 2019, appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to help them obtain justice even as she debunked reports claiming the chief executive allegedly ordered her husband’s assassination.

According to Mrs. Lalaine Yuson they also sought assistance for their family’s security from Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa but the latter allegedly only told them to talk to PNP Officer-in-Charge General Archie Gamboa which she said her family refuses to do.

Family Yuson has also asked the Department of Justice to intervene on the case on their behalf as they allegedly lost confidence and trust on Manila Police District and so with the Manila Prosecutor’s office.

Acting on a request by the Manila Prosecutor’s office, the MPD released on Friday, 11 October 2019 only a day after they were arrested.

The vice mayor was killed last Wednesday, 09 October 2019 in an eatery in Sampaloc, Manila.

The four suspects released were Bradford Solis Fuerte, Juanito De luna Bustamante, Rigor Dela Cruz, and Junel Gomez Reyes.

They were accordingly arrested after the plate number of the gray van they allegedly used to arrive at and flee from the crime scene was captured by a CCTV camera in Sampaloc, Manila.

All of them were identified to have come from Camiling, Tarlac, except for Reyes, who is from Laguna.

Shortly after this Mrs. Yuson called a press conference following the arrest of the four suspects and accused PCSO Board Member whistleblower Sandra Cam on having a hand on her husband’s killing.

However, Mrs. Yuson clarified Friday she is not wont on the insinuations of some quarters President Duterte has something to do with her husband’s killing.

The wife also added the level three (3) intel report linking the President to the killing is a sham and could only be a ploy of Cam to muddle up the real issue.

She also claimed the camp of Cam has the capacity to spread a misinformation drive.

Cam has consistently denied Yuson’s accusations saying how could she be implicated in the case when she is busy doing her business at the PCSO.

Aside from seeking the President’s help, Yuson said they also requested for the National Bureau of Investigation to step into the case during her second press conference accompanied by four witnesses who all confirmed the involvement of Cam on the killing. (BCuaresma/IAmigo/CNS)
