A major transformation for historic Jones Bridge here is underway and so with Mehan Garden which is also being spruced up and when completed, change on Manila’s famous but neglected landmarks could catapult them at par with the world’s best Manila mayor Isko Moreno said Sunday (13 October 2019).
By the 20th of October 2019, the new Jones Bridge will be considered as “Paris of the East” Manila’s popular local chief executive Isko Moreno said Sunday (13 October 2019) while the Mehan Garden can be compared to Florida’s famous parks replete with fountains and changing lights at night.
Indeed, a sight to behold he said.
Local chief executives usually take Sundays off day but not for Moreno, who managed to move around the city and checked on the ongoing works at Jones Bridge and Mehan Garden although he was nursing a slight fever.

Moreno was elated to see the gradual transformation of the park with the fountains already working perfectly with assorted lights along with the palm trees that all but prompted the local chief executive to compare them with Florida’s in the US of A.
The former actor also thanked paint maker Boysen for supplying for free non-skid, rubberized floor paints.
Moreno claimed Mehan Garden has been neglected for the past five years but now Manilenos need not go to Makati’s Ayala Triangle anymore since they can already enjoy the comforts and sights right in Manila.
At the same time, Moreno also praised the city’s electricians and engineering office on their efforts and contribution in bringing back the glory of Mehan Garden.
Guests can now also enjoy squeaky clean, granite apportioned comfort rooms on which Moreno appealed for the public to do their share in maintaining cleanliness.
“Papaayos pa natin ito para maging vibrant naman ang Maynila. Patikim pa lamang ito at sa tulong ninyo magtatagumpay tayo,” Moreno said. (BCuaresma/IAmigo/CNS)
