MANILA, Philippines – All of the four alleged gunmen who are believed to have executed Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III of Batuan, Masbate, last Wednesday, 09 October 2019 were all freed early morning on Saturday, 12 October 2019 Manila Police District (MPD) reporters say.

The four suspects were presented to the media by MPD chief Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr. shortly after their arrest a day after Yuson’s killing.

Namely, the freed suspects are the following:

Bradford Solis Fuerte

Juanito De luna Bustamante

Rigor Dela Cruz

Junel Gomez Reyes

The 36-year-old Reyes is from Binan, Laguna while the rest are allegedly all from Camiling, Tarlac.

Reason for the suspects’ release from custody cannot be determined as yet at press time Saturday.

According to the police report, the four suspects were arrested based on a CCTV grab of the plate number of the vehicle they allegedly used getting into and fleeing the crime scene in Sampaloc, Manila at around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday while the victim was eating breakfast in an eatery along Vicente Cruz, Sampaloc, Manila.

Meantime, Yuson’s wife Lalaine tagged Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam as having a hand in the killing because she explained their son Charmax Jan Yuson crushed Cam’s son, Marco Martin Cam, in the polls for mayor in Batuan last elections.

But Cam, who is identified as a close ally of President Duterte, vehemently denied the accusation saying she “has nothing to do with the ambush” and that she is very busy attending to official functions at PCSO.

Reports have it that Yuson is the ninth vice mayor killed under President Rodrigo Duterte’s watch, followed by the most recent assassination of San Andres, Quezon, Vice Mayor Sergio “Popoy” Emprese.

Emprese was shot dead at his home in Lucena City month of August. (BC/IAmigo/CNS)
