Is this safe?
Commuters got a scare of their lives when a Pangasinan Solid North bus exploded in flames at Barangay Ambelita, Pogo in the province of La Union.
Taking a look at the photo and the video, the fire gutted the rear end of the provincial bus which sources told Currentph.com plies the Manila to Baguio route.
Reports say that the bus went on fire due to sticky breaks. Sticky breaks, some bus drivers say, occur due to lack or absence of alleged maintenance.
Such incidents should never happen especially since the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB had already given guidelines to bus companies to strictly check their units on their road worthiness first, before they hit the roads.
Fortunately, no one was injured or killed during the blaze.
