Typhoon Ofel Strengthens Over Philippine Sea, PAGASA Issues Alerts
As Typhoon Ofel intensifies, PAGASA has placed Northern Luzon on high alert. Located 780 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, as of Tuesday, the storm is tracking west-northwest at 30 km/h. With sustained winds of 95 km/h and gusts reaching 115 km/h, Ofel is expected to reach typhoon strength by evening, potentially making landfall on the east coast of Cagayan or Isabela on Thursday, November 14. Signal No. 1 warnings are anticipated for parts of Cagayan Valley by Wednesday morning, with severe winds and heavy rainfall predicted. Coastal communities are urged to prepare.
