There is no evidence yet showing that someone has died from the being injected with the vaccines for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Task Force for Covid-19 Adverse Effects Head Dr. Maricar Ang said on Tuesday.

“None has been proven to have died because of being injected to any Covid-19 vaccines,” Ang said in Filipino during the Laging Handa Public Briefing on Tuesday.

He said that there were common side effects that a person vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine can experience like pain on the spot where the injection was administered, which can lead to swelling that will be gone in one to three days.

Also, the other side effects are fever, weakness of the body, or headache that will last for few days.

Meanwhile, there is no data yet linking that pre-medications are needed to avoid any adverse effect from the vaccine.

She added that the usual supportive care provided for people experiencing side effects from the vaccines are taking paracetamol, drinking lots of water, and cold compresses on the site of injection.

The Covid-19 Adverse Effects task force head cited that the severe allergic reactions from the vaccines are rare cases and it is usually documented in mRNA vaccines.

She added that there will be doctors who will monitor post-vaccination and they are trained to recognize and treat severe allergic reactions.
