Former Senator and movie star Ramon Revilla Sr. was rushed to two hospitals, first in Bacoor City, Cavite and then in Taguig City, on Sunday evening, but eventually was in stable condition, his son, Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., said.
In a statement, Sen. Bong said he rushed his father to the hospital because of breathing problems at 6 pm.
“He was hard of breathing and was somewhat unresponsive. From St. Dominic Medical Center where he was given first aid and emergency medical services, he was transferred to St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City where he is now undergoing treatment,” Revilla Jr. said in a statement made.
Revilla Jr. and his son, Cavite vice governor Jolo Revilla, earlier posted messages on social media asking for prayers for the patriarch, whose condition has improved since.
“Kasalukuyan po siyang nakakabit sa ventilator (He is currently attached to a ventilator), but thank God, he is now conscious and responsive.”
Revilla Jr. thanked those who prayed and expressed their concern for his father.
“Patuloy po kaming humihiling ng inyong panalangin para muli niyang malampasan itong kanyang karamdaman (We continue to ask for your prayers that he would again get through his illness.),” he said.
Revilla Sr., who served in the Senate from 1992 to 2004, had been hospitalized several times at St. Luke’s Global City for various health conditions in the past few years./Stacy Ang
