Another healthcare frontliner dies due to COVID-19

Another frontline healthcare worker has passed away on Thursday evening while in the line of duty due to the deadly  coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), an association of nurses said on Friday.

The Filipino Nurses United (FNU)  National, in its Facebook page, shared a post of the health worker’s relative.

“My niece Faye Marie Luna Palafox, a frontline nurse assigned at the COVID-19 section of PGH (Philippine General Hospital), died last night. Requesting prayers for the eternal repose of her soul,”  said Francis Palafox, who works in PNOC Energy Development Corporation, in his Facebook post shared by FNU.

According to health authorities, more than 20 Filipino doctors have already died due to their fight against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, more than 700 healthcare workers have already been infected and now recuperating from the disease, according to a recent report./Stacy Ang
