SEA Games gold medalist and Tokyo Olympics prospect Hidilyn Diaz snatched three gold medals in Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total in the Women’s 55 kg category of the 2020 Weightlifting World Cup on Tuesday, 2020 January 28, in Rome, Italy.

The Filipino weightlifting star lifted 93kg in the snatch event and 119kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 212kg, running away with three gold medals.

Ukraine’s Kamila Konotop took two silvers with total lift of 196kg and 90kg lift in the snatch while Russia’s Kristina Novitskaia seized a silver as well in clean and jerk event with a 109kg lift.

Tunisia’s Nouha Landoulsi bagged the overall bronze with a total lift of 194kg.

Diaz twice won the bronze medal in the world championships, in 2017 in Anaheim, USA, and in 2019 in Pattaya, Thailand.
