MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine women’s Softball national team reached new heights as they climbed two spots in the latest world rankings after tallying a total of 2,110 points.
And with it, PH’s softbelles surpassed Czech Republic and Great Britain in the list. Last year’s campaign was highlighted by the conquest of the Blu Girls in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in the Philippines wherein they chalked up their 10th straight gold medal.
The Philippine women’s softball team also finished fourth in the Asian Women’s Softball Championship, and the 2019 Asia Cup Under-17 Women’s Softball that all but racked for the country in ranking points. In Asia, meanwhile, the Philippines ranks 4th behind Japan (world No. 2), Chinese-Taipei (world No. 6), and China (world No. 7).
The United States remained on top of the world softball women’s rankings. The senior squad also participated in major tournaments such as the 2019 USA Softball International Cup and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Asia/Oceania Qualifier, where Australia notched the slot to the quadrennial meet.
