A drug-crazed man climbed up into the roof of their house where he tried to take his own life Friday in Manila by slashing his wrists using a piece of a galvanized iron sheet he plucked out from their gutter.

The incident roused neighbors to tenterhooks that became even more scarier when blood started oozing out from the wrist of the subject who eventually lost consciousness minutes after a responder from the fire department arrived. (Mike Taboy/Benjie Cuaresma/IAMIGO/CNS)
