Ten employees assigned to the Farm-to-Market Road Program of the Department of Agriculture were appealing to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to take action over Usec. Waldo Reyes Carpio’s abuse of authority for relieving them despite the validity of their contracts until December 2019.
In their letter to President Duterte, the employees accused Usec. Carpio of committing grave abuse of authority and violation of the country’s Labor Code in firing them out and replacing them with the official’ favoured personnel.
They narrated that they were summoned by Carpio to his office and were surprised when he declared that they were already terminated. Usec. Carpio replaced them with other contractuals.
The 10 employees who wrote to the President were: Marissa Aguilar (Senior Administrative Assistant I), Leslie Albano (Project Assistant III), April Joy Ayson (Administrative Assistant VI), Mark Paul Baldeo (Engineer II), Norman Boloron (Administrative Assistant V), Alberto Cachero (Project Assistant III), Robin Christopher Cueva (Project Assistant IV), Jerry Gregorio (Administrative Assistant VI), William Inguito Jr. (Project Assistant IV), and Rea Queen Megalbin (Project Assistant IV).
The group also said their salaries for September 2019 were being withheld by Usec. Carpio.
“Hindi poi to makatarungan President Duterte, kapiranggot na pera na aming pinagtrabahuan ay pinagkakait pa sa amin,” they stated in the letter.
The group also alleged that Usec. Carpio is an absentee official of the department, allowing an officer-in-charge to the work that’s supposed to be his.
CurrentPH tried to get the side of Usec. Carpio to no avail.
