Tokyo, Japan — Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone has died on Friday (29 November 2019) at the age of 101.
Mr. Nakasone’s office confirmed his death, which took place at a Tokyo hospital.
Nakasone, who served as prime minister between November 1982 and November 1987, worked to strengthen Japan’s relations with the United States and promote administrative reforms, including the breakup and privatization of the Japanese National Railways. (Marian Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
