COVID-19 cases among health care workers increase to 2,245 —DOH

The Department of Health (DOH)  reported that 2,245 health workers have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), composed of 812 nurses, 660 physicians, 137 nursing assistants, 81 medical technologists, 42 radiologic technologists, and 260 non-medical staff.

A total of 779 health care workers in the country have already survived COVID-19, the DOH also said.

“Nitong mga nakaraang araw ay paonti na ng paonti ang nakikita nating mga health care workers na nag-positbo,” Health undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a live briefing.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 35 with no new fatalities reported.

According to the DOH, there are 1,431 active cases.

Of these, 1,027 or 71.77% are mild cases, 398 or 27.81% are asymptomatic cases, 5  are severe cases, and one is in critical condition./Stacy Ang
