BREAKING!  PH  COVID updates:  47,873 cases;  1,309 deaths;  12,386 recoveries

The Philippines on Tuesday recorded 1,540 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, raising the nationwide total to 47,873.

“As of 4PM today, July 07, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 47, 873,” said the DOH in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #115.

“In addition to the 993 fresh cases, 547 late cases were also reported today,” said the DOH.

The fresh cases are based on the daily accomplishment reports submitted by only 69 out of 74 current operational labs, DOH  said.

The health department  also reported six  new fatalities from the contagious disease, bringing the death toll to 1,309.

DOH likewise announced 201 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 12,386.

Of the 6 reported deaths, 3 (50%) occurred in June. The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation, the DOH said./Stacy Ang
