The son of late dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos  has been tested positive for the deadly  coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), his spokesman said on Tuesday.

Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has tested positive for COVID-19, but is now doing better, his spokesman Vic Rodriguez said.

Marcos  received his result on March 28.

The results of the COVID-19 test of the senator was released by RITM on March 28, 2020, where it was indicated that he was positive, said Rodriguez in a statement.

His spokesman said Marcos is in stable condition.

Rodriguez said  Marcos’s condition is getting better after the results of his clinical test conducted by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) have confirmed he is positive for COVID -19.

According to Rodriguez, Marcos is only one in thousands of Filipinos fighting against the deadly disease. He said the former senator is also recovering in an “isolation area.”

Rodriguez said, after Marcos arrived from a trip in Europe, he immediately went the following day, on March 14, 2020, to a hospital due to difficulty in breathing, and to check on his health due to the reported recent outbreak of the corona virus.

On March 22, Marcos was rushed to the emergency room of a hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing, where a “CoVid19’”  test was made, as he was advised to have a self-quarantine.
