Last August 27, the newly formed Artikulo Onse, an Organization against corruption, had its round table Kapehan and talkback at Café Adriatico in Malate, Manila.
Present were two profound members, Atty. JV Bautista and Ka-Leody de Guzman.
Atty. JV Bautista stated that politics in the Philippines is big business and that the citizens should observe every public official. This statement strengthens the core of Article 11 of the 1987 Constitution stating that public office is a Public Trust.
Atty. Bautista then questioned some public officials initiating the investigation as if they were not involved in any form of corruption. This hypocrisy will lead to “Takipan” in order for the officials not to be pinpointed. Bautista also said, “If i were a Congressman during the SONA when BBM said ‘Mahiya naman kayo’ I would say ‘Mahiya nga tayo'” to the Public Officials involved in the Flood Control projects.
Meanwhile, Ka-Leody emphasized that the Organization’s essential task is to stop the “Onsehan” which is directly correlated to corruption.
Ka-Leody then emphasized that political dynasties should be abolished, as if this is the main root of corruption since time in memoriam.
Ka-Leody then suggested that investigative bodies should come from other sectors to provide check and balance.
