Pilipino Society and Development Advocates Commuter-Consumer (PASADA CC) supports the campaign of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in improving telecommunications services in the Philippines.
PASADA CC, a SEC-registered consumer and commuter non-governmental organization, vows to exhaust all of its resources in supporting the Duterte administration’s goal of requiring telecommunications firms, such as Globe Telecommunications and Smart Telecommunications to step up their services for the benefit of the Filipino consumer.
“ For a very long time, these giant telecommunications firms have been giving us various excuses for their very poor services. We agree with President Duterte’s statement that the Filipino consumer has reached his patience. Pagod na kami sa napaka-samang serbisyo sa telepono, cable and internet. We have been paying huge sums but services are very bad. It is time for us to launch a revolution against weak services!,” says Atty. Argee Guevarra, convenor of PASADA CC.
Guevarra says they have been victimized by weak internet signals from both their Globe and Smart internet services. SkyCable also charged PASADA CC of about 9,000.00 pesos worth of internet services during the time when government declared a general community quarantine (GCQ) at the National Capital Region (NCR).
“ Imagine, our NGO was charged to pay 9,000 pesos for the period from March 16 to June when all our staff did not use SkyCable internet services because we required them to stay home. SkyCable is now charging us for services which we did not use. This is insanity!”
In his State of the Nation Address, Duterte vowed to close telecommunications companies if they refuse to improve their services before December of this year.
