The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has seized around P42-million worth of shabu, and arrested eight suspects, including a Chinese national, in three anti-drug operations in cities of Quezon and Malabon on Sunday.
The PDEA, in a Facebook post Monday, identified those arrested in Quezon City as Datu Boy Nasser, Norhana Nasser, and Said Ampakay; Kenneth Maclan, Dennis Roque, Harrold Villasana and Carlito Biglang-awa; while Tuan Xi Yuan was arrested in Malabon.
Joint operatives of PDEA and Quezon City Police District initially conducted a buy-bust operation around 1:45 a.m. Sunday beside a gasoline station along Mindanao Avenue.
The ops resulted in the arrest of the first three suspects and the confiscation of two plastic bags containing about P6.8-million worth of suspected shabu and one vehicle.
In another operation, four more suspects were arrested in a follow-up, yielding P8.8 million worth of suspected shabu along with several pistols, rifles, and material used for making explosives.
They were believed to be the drug suppliers of the suspects in the previous operation.
Finally, at around 6:30 p.m., PDEA operatives joined by anti-drug agents of the Northern Police District arrested Tuan Xi Yuan, a female Chinese national in a buy-bust operation conducted in Road 25, Dampalit, Malabon City.
This led to the recovery of four plastic packs of suspected shabu weighing about four kilograms approximately worth P27.2 million.
The suspects are currently detained and will face criminal complaints for allegedly violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./Stacy Ang
