BREAKING!  PH COVID-19 updates:  6,259 positive;  409 deaths;  572 recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Sunday that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases nationwide surged to 6,259 with 172 new positive infections.

“As of 4PM today, April 18, 2020, the Department of Health reports 172 new cases (PH6088-PH6259)  of COVID-19. The total number of cases in the country is now at 6,259,” according to the DOH COVID-19  Case Bulletin No. 36.

The DOH also reported 12 new deaths for a total of 409.

Meanwhile, 56 new patients recovered, with a total now of 572 recoveries from the disease./Stacy Ang
